Causes, Signs & Symptoms, and Treatment Brampton
If you are experiencing a shooting or deafening pain near your face, ear, or under your jaw or jaw muscles, you are likely experiencing a TMJ disorder, also known as the Temporomanidular disorder.
TMJ describes a series of conditions that is further characterized by the dysfunction of the muscles located in the jaw and surrounding areas. It could be challenging to determine the accurate source of the symptoms but the symptoms can be treated effectively by an orthodontist.
Signs and Symptoms of TMD
The signs and symptoms associated with a TMJ disorder are comparatively easy to diagnose and distinguish. Patients diagnosed with the disorder are more likely to hear a clicking sound when closing or opening their mouth. The clicking sound is generated by the shifting located inside the joints of your jaw. The patient is also more likely to experience excruciating pain in the cheeks and temples, where the jaw muscles are situated.
