Wisdom Tooth Extraction & Wisdom Teeth Surgery
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a service offered by Dr. Sonia Sharma Dental Centre and can be done right in our dental office in Brampton.
If any infections are present, the surgery will have to be delayed until your infection has been treated. Generally the infection is treated using antibiotics.
Local anesthetic is used to freeze the region of your wisdom tooth prior to removal. If you are removing several wisdom teeth, a general anesthetic might be used instead. By using a general anesthetic, you will not feel any pain and you will be sleeping throughout the entire surgery.
The process of wisdom teeth removal at your Brampton dental office involves opening the gums on the site where the tooth is located and removal of any bone that is sheltering your tooth. The tissue that is joining the bone and tooth will be divided which will allow for the tooth to be removed.
After your extraction is completed, you may require stitches on the site. These stitches will dissolve on there own over a few days.
